Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work stations, adhering to food safety protocols
- Support cooking processes by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety of all menu items
- Assist with plating and presentation of dishes to meet aesthetic standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food service environment, including restaurant or catering settings
- Knowledge of food industry standards for safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Experience with menu planning, food handling, and food preparation methods
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
