Duties
- Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and rescue situations with professionalism and urgency
- Operate fire suppression equipment, including hoses, ladders, and extinguishers to control and extinguish fires effectively
- Provide first aid and basic life support (BLS) to injured or ill individuals on scene, including administering CPR when necessary
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire scenes and ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations
- Assist with community outreach programs focused on fire prevention and safety education
- Maintain firefighting gear, tools, and equipment in optimal condition through regular inspections and cleaning
- Collaborate with emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and other first responders to coordinate rescue efforts and patient care
Skills
- Proven EMR experience with certification in emergency medical services (EMS) procedures
- Strong knowledge of first aid, CPR, and basic life support techniques to provide immediate care in emergencies
- Ability to operate commercial driving vehicles such as fire trucks safely under various conditions
- Mechanical aptitude for understanding firefighting equipment and performing routine maintenance or repairs
- Physical strength for heavy lifting, carrying equipment, and maneuvering in challenging environments
- Ability to monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions accurately during emergencies
- Excellent communication skills for clear coordination with team members and conveying information to the public
- 24 hour shifts: Day one work, Day two off, Day three work, Day four off, Day five work. Off four days.
