Sussex Development Corporation is seeking an experienced and proactive Commercial Construction Senior Project Manager to lead the successful execution of large-scale and complex commercial construction projects, including ground-up builds and high-value client programs. This role is critical is overseeing all phases of project delivery, managing multiple projects, and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, while upholding our core values of Integrity, Commitment, Collaboration, and Excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage project scope, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful on-time, on-budget completion
- Collaborate with the preconstruction team to ensure a smooth handoff, then manage subcontractor relationships, scheduling, and project execution through closeout
- Coordinate and direct all construction activities on site and with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain strong, solution-oriented communication with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and progress billings
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, risk, and performance metrics
- Oversee punch list completion and project closeout documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial construction project management, including ground-up
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and multiple trades from start to finish
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and digital plan review tools (Bluebeam or similar)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
