We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently and securely across designated routes. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks—including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks—will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and specialized trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks across assigned routes.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment like forklifts, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Deliver freight accurately and on time while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal paths, adjusting for traffic or weather conditions, and maintaining punctuality.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, load status, or any issues encountered during trips.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, cargo details, and delivery documentation for compliance purposes.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating various truck types including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Proficiency in manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Prior delivery driver experience with a focus on freight handling and route driving.
- Ability to load & unload freight manually or using equipment such as forklifts; forklift certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo securement standards.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and customers.
