Manual Lathe Machinist / General Technician
We are seeking an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist and General Technician to join our team. This position focuses on operating traditional manual lathes to manufacture, repair, and modify parts. We do not use CNC-operated machines.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathes
- Machine parts to the required dimensions and tolerances
- Perform turning, facing, threading, boring, drilling, and related operations
- Repair and modify existing parts as needed
- Read drawings, measurements, and job specifications
- Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and workholding methods
- Troubleshoot equipment and machining issues
- Perform general mechanical and technician work as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company quality and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Previous manual lathe machining experience is required
- General mechanical or industrial technician experience is preferred
- Experience setting up jobs independently
- Ability to read a tape measure and use precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work from drawings, samples, or existing parts
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce accurate work with close attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Welding or metal-fabrication experience is a plus but not required
Important: This is a manual machining position. We do not operate CNC machines, and CNC-only experience may not be sufficient for this role.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
