Bedrock Granite is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Material Handler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe movement, storage, and organization of heavy natural stone and engineered slabs (granite, marble, quartz, quartzite) throughout our facility. You will support our fabrication and inventory teams by ensuring materials are safely loaded, unloaded, and staged.
Key Responsibilities
- Slab & Inventory Movement: Safely operate heavy equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes, boom attachments, and slab clamps) to transport stone slabs from delivery trucks to storage A-frames, and onto fabrication lines.
- Receiving & Inspection: Assist in unloading incoming shipments. Visually inspect slabs upon arrival for cracks, fissures, or defects, and report discrepancies immediately.
- Quality & Care: Handle all materials with a high level of care to prevent scratching, chipping, or breakage during transit and staging.
- Organization & Tagging: Maintain an organized slab yard and warehouse. Ensure all inventory is properly tagged, labeled, and tracked according to company systems.
- Fabrication Support: Promptly and accurately stage the correct slabs for the digital templating and fabrication teams to keep production running on schedule.
- Safety & Maintenance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA and company safety guidelines regarding heavy lifting and stone handling. Perform daily safety checks on forklifts, cranes, and rigging equipment. Keep the workspace clean and free of hazards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, stone fabrication facility, or heavy manufacturing environment. Experience handling large-format stone slabs or glass is highly preferred.
- Certified or highly proficient in operating sit-down forklifts and overhead gantry cranes.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout a shift.
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
