American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery position in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a 407-bed Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma, acute care hospital
-
High-risk L&D unit featuring 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
-
Manages an average of 7 daily deliveries with frequent census up to 14 patients, including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
-
OB Triage averages 4–5 third-trimester testing patients plus additional triage patients daily
-
Patient ratios: OB Triage/Testing 5–10 patients; L&D/Antepartum 7–14 patients

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
-
Every other weekend required

Floating to like units may be required to meet facility needs; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

No on-call requirements

Charting via Epic (experience required)

Scrubs are provided by the facility

13-week contract

Active Alaska (AK) RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration but must be in hand prior to offer

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and NRP

Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Charge nurse experience preferred; facility is willing to train candidates without it

At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must also meet the 50-mile radius requirement

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; RTO is approved on an individual basis and any requests submitted after the offer may be denied
