Position: Manager in Training - Taproom Manager
The Manager in Training (MIT) will report to the General Manager (GM) and demonstrate strong interpersonal and managerial skills. Ideal candidate will have experience working in high-volume food and beverage service settings and should be knowledgeable of craft beer and the craft beer industry. In addition to handling money, opening and closing the facility, and server oversight, the Manager in Training shall ensure all opening, mid-shift, and closing duties are completed by assigned staff members. MIT will be directly responsible for the entire operation and management of Kitchen including meal creation and preparation by MIT with oversight from GM and the Executive Manager (EM). This position is primarily afternoon/evening and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Supervision of taproom staff, inventory management, and day-to-day management of the taproom including proper opening, closing and mid-shift procedures
· Ensure Richbrau Brewing consistently exceeds guest expectations
· Ensure a smooth front-of-house operation at all times, lead and assist staff during all shifts
· Assist EM and GM with day-to-day needs and projects
· Must be able manage staff, suggest course corrections, and be comfortable handling disciplinary interactions if/when needed
Requirements
· Must be able to work nights and weekends
· Management and Money Management experience
· Knowledge of craft beer and/or serious interest in understanding craft beer styles and the industry
· Must already have or be willing to complete the VA ABC Manager Certification
· Must be able to understand and enforce Richbrau Brewing standards, processes, & procedures
Skills/Qualifications
· Knowledge and understanding of taproom operations
· Self-motivated and ability to follow procedures with little guidance
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and calmly react to and handle stressful situations and customer complaints
· Detail-oriented and ability to accurately manage cash handling and counting
Compensation & Perks:
· 30-Day Probationary & Training Rate of $6/hr plus tip-share (no less than $12/hr but $12-$20/hr is typical)
- After 30 days, minimum increases to $15 - $25/hr based on experience, skill set, and 30-day performance level

Experience:
- Customer service: Minimum 1 year (Preferred)
