Job Summary: A Package Designer at UPPI develops innovative conceptual packaging solutions incorporating thermoformed plastics. Our designers create package designs using SolidWorks to meet customers’ requirements ensuring standards of thermoformed package design are maintained throughout the development process. Packaging is a fast-paced industry so timely output of design and concept work is necessary to meet customer required lead times.
UPPI will provide on the job training and employee will be responsible for creating custom package designs to customer specifications. Engineering degree, technical related college degree, or equivalent experience required. SolidWorks CAD experience required. Graphics or industrial design experience is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative conceptual packaging solutions incorporating thermoformed plastics
- Create package designs using SolidWorks to meet customers’ requirements
- Ensure standards of thermoformed package design are maintained throughout the development process
- Timely output of design and concept work to meet customer required lead times
- Occasional travel to visit customers as required
Education and/or Experience: Undergraduate degree or equivalent technical training in design and/or engineering is desired. 2-5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SolidWorks experience is a must.
Reporting: The position reports to the Chief Engineer.
