Position Summary
The Raw Material, Inventory & Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising raw material management, inventory control (within Fabrication Supply Chain), fabrication operations, and personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate production. This position oversees material flow from receipt through fabrication, maintains inventory accuracy, supports production schedules, and drives continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Maintains Database, Schedule, and Planning for work. The Raw Material, Inventory & Fabrication Supervisor must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Fabrication Supply Chain Raw Material Management
· Oversee raw materials including the yard within Fabrication Supply Chain.
· Ensure materials are available to support production schedules and customer demand.
· Coordinate material movement between receiving, inventory, and fabrication areas.
· Monitor material usage and minimize waste, scrap, and stock shortages.
· Verify material certifications and documentation as required with purchasing support.
Fabrication Supply Chain Inventory Control
· Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP/MRP systems.
· Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
· Monitor inventory levels within Fabrication Supply Chain and recommend replenishment of materials and consumables.
· Ensure material locations and inventory transactions are properly maintained.
· Develop and implement inventory management best practices.
Fabrication Operations
· Supervise daily fabrication activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
· Coordinate work assignments and staffing to maximize productivity.
· Monitor workflow, machine utilization, and labor efficiency.
· Ensure fabrication processes comply with company standards and customer specifications.
· Fill in for workstations as needed
· Collaborate with planning, engineering, purchasing, and quality departments to resolve production issues.
· Support equipment maintenance and operational readiness.
· Provide coverage for vacations and absences of other Fabrication Supervisor
Team Leadership
· Lead, coach, train, and develop fabrication and inventory personnel.
· Provide feedback for Employee Evaluations
· Accountable for daily shift results for area of responsibility
· Prepare shift exchange for area of responsibility
· Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
· Promote employee engagement, accountability, and teamwork.
· Assist with hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary actions as needed.
· Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Safety & Quality
· Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
· Conduct safety audits, inspections, and training sessions.
· Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.
· Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
