Elevator Support Company (ESC) is Washington’s trusted elevator partner for government, commercial, and institutional buildings. To support our continued growth, ESC is adding a Controller to build, elevate, and lead the financial function. This newly created role will be instrumental in strengthening financial operations, improving visibility across divisions, and supporting a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration.
The Controller will be responsible for the following essential job functions:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including month-end close, general ledger accuracy, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, job-costing reports, and cash flow projections.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting cycles and collaborate with leadership on long-term financial planning.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making and operational strategy across business units.
- Oversee expense reporting, categorization, and internal financial controls.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and state tax requirements (including DOR for Washington).
- Implement and improve accounting processes, reporting structures, and financial procedures for scalability.
- Lead the integration and optimization of financial and operational systems, including QuickBooks, RevealiQ, Monday.com, HubSpot, and job-costing software.
- Partner with division leaders on job costing, project forecasting, margin analysis, and financial performance reviews.
- Support treasury functions—including cash flow management and, over time, banking relationships.
- Serve as a collaborative advisor to the CEO and leadership teams, providing clear, data-driven recommendations.
- Perform various additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience, ideally within construction, elevator services, building services, or other project-based service industries.
- Strong financial and strategic acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience leading or building an accounting function; capable of operating as the sole financial leader.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office 365, and job-costing or ERP-related systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-departmentally and support non-financial stakeholders.
- High integrity, professionalism, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
Full-time benefits include competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
- Annual salary range of $130,000–$150,000
- Health & dental benefits through Regence EmployeeChoice Gold 500 eligible after 30 days of employment (Elevator Support Company covers 75% of the premium)
