This is an outstanding opportunity for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs eager to work in a bustling Level 1 Trauma Center. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team at the forefront of medicine and patient care, gaining exposure to a variety of unit types and patient populations. Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 7A–7P or 7P–7A
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of every 12 (6-week scheduling cycle)
- No on-call requirement
- Holiday rotation required (one major holiday per cycle)
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver expert care on inpatient Med/Surg Tele units, frequently managing acute and chronic illnesses commonly found in this patient population.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage post-cath patients, and provide TR band/groin site care.
- Administer and titrate cardiac and insulin drips such as heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and others.
- Start and maintain IVs, manage trachs and chest tubes, conduct discharge planning and patient education.
- Collaborate with CNAs, discharge/resource nurses, RTs, hospitalists, and intensivists.
- Float as needed to all Med/Surg Tele units in the facility.
Qualifications
- Active RN license and BLS required; ACLS preferred (must pass EKG competency on onboarding)
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg Tele RN experience
- Proficiency with EMR (EPIC)
- Telemetry skills and ability to interpret rhythms essential
- Strong assessment, time management, and interdisciplinary communication skills
