Hospice Office Coordinator to support the daily administrative operations of our hospice program. This role is essential in ensuring smooth communication among patients, families, physicians, nurses, aides, and referral sources.
The ideal candidate will have experience in hospice, home health, or healthcare administration and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, compassionate care environment. This is not a general office coordinator position; candidates should understand the unique administrative needs of hospice care.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate hospice referrals, admissions, and intake processes.
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation in compliance with hospice regulations.
- Serve as a communication liaison between patients, families, physicians, nurses, aides, and referral sources.
- Schedule visits, meetings, and care-related appointments.
- Maintain and organize medical records, personnel files, and other confidential documents.
- Support billing, payroll, and bookkeeping tasks as needed, including use of QuickBooks or similar software.
- Assist with staff onboarding, credential tracking, and administrative support for the hospice team.
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries with professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Required: Prior experience in hospice, home health, medical office administration, or healthcare administration.
- Strong understanding of hospice operations, patient scheduling, and medical documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Professional communication skills and compassionate phone etiquette.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with QuickBooks or similar financial software is preferred.
- Experience with payroll, bookkeeping, or healthcare billing is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient and family information.
Preferred experience
- Hospice office coordination or hospice administrative experience.
- Home health agency administrative experience.
- Familiarity with hospice regulations, EMR systems, and referral management.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
