The Research Alliance for New York City Schools is an independent research center housed at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. Founded in 2008, the Research Alliance conducts rigorous studies on topics that matter to New York City’s public schools. Job Description:
The Research Alliance invites applications for a Part-Time Research Communications Specialist. The person in this role will provide in-depth developmental editing of research reports, policy briefs, blog posts, and other documents as needed. They will also draft written summaries of key findings and recommendations and support the widespread dissemination of Research Alliance work.
Responsibilities:
Editing a range of Research Alliance documents, including research reports, policy briefs, blog posts, grant proposals, memos, data visualizations, surveys, social media content, etc.
Identifying and honing messages for different audiences to highlight key findings and lessons from our work.
Assist with the preparation of presentations and reports for diverse audiences of policymakers, practitioners, funders, community members, and researchers.
Write a website, e-newsletter, and social media content that speaks to audiences’ needs and interests, and promotes the use of evidence from Research Alliance studies.
- Support the release and broad dissemination of Research Alliance publications.
This position is considered Hybrid-Remote: The number of in person days and expectations for onsite work will be discussed with the supervisor.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly salary rate for this position is $50-$60. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
