The Job in Perspective
We are looking for a competent and customer service-oriented Project Engineer/Assistant superintendent with commercial construction experience to coordinate operations and oversee subcontractors at construction sites.
The Project Engineer / Assistant Superintendent will work closely with project leadership to support all phases of construction, both in the field and office. This role provides hands-on experience with daily site operations, project documentation, subcontractor coordination, and quality control. Ideal for recent graduates or those with early industry experience looking for professional development and advancement.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily jobsite coordination and supervision to ensure safety and productivity
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to support project planning and execution Help track project schedules, RFIs, change orders, and material procurement
- Conduct field walks to monitor progress and verify quality standards
- Support subcontractor and vendor communication
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and meeting minutes
- Uphold company safety protocols and participate in toolbox talks
- Help project managers comply with contract documents and company reporting requirements.
- Assist in close out the project in compliance with the contract documents.
Minimum Qualifications
- Computer skills – navigate building software on PC and iPad, as well as Excel and email.
- Project Site experience is a plus
- High level of proficiency in reading blueprints and building specifications
- Effective written and verbal communications skills for daily reporting and client management
- Systematic and structured organizational skills
- Some demonstrable experience in a management position or leadership role preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent experience, including math skills
Extra Job Details
Job Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Salary: $65,000 - $95,000
The position may require more than 40 hours and occasional weekend work to meet deadlines.
