Gastro Office / Hilliard Endo Center — Hilliard, OH
About Us
We're an independent, physician-owned ambulatory endoscopy and GI care center. Our mission is fostering excellence through love and service, solving gut issues through innovative, independent, physician-owned care. We're scaling toward 250,000 patient encounters a year by 2038, and we're building the team that will get us there — without ever compromising clinical quality, safety, or patient experience.
About the Role
We're looking for a Registered Nurse to own the full perioperative continuum for our GI/endoscopy patients — from pre-op assessment through safe discharge. You'll administer and monitor moderate sedation, support the physician during procedures, and help keep our rooms turning efficiently so we can serve more patients without cutting corners on safety.
This is a fast-paced, procedural nursing role for someone who thrives on structure, sound clinical judgment, and being part of a close-knit, high-performing team.
What You'll Do
- Complete and document accurate pre-op assessments (history, medications, allergies, vitals, height/weight, pain)
- Establish and maintain IV access
- Conduct and document a pre-procedural time-out on 100% of cases
- Administer and monitor moderate (conscious) sedation per state regulation and facility policy, including continuous intra-op monitoring (O2, sedation level, Aldrete score, vitals)
- Assist the physician with procedural tasks (biopsy handling, specimen labeling, scope and equipment management)
- Maintain accurate specimen logs
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered; maintain correct controlled-substance counts and inventory
- Deliver recovery care (pain, nausea, oxygen); complete post-op assessment, medication reconciliation, and discharge criteria; remove IV and confirm discharge readiness
- Maintain infection prevention standards and biomedical waste handling per policy
- Assist with room turnover, patient transport, and positioning to support daily case throughput
- Arrive on time and manage your schedule reliably
- Attend competency training, emergency drills, and staff meetings; adhere to dress code and all policies
What We're Looking For (Required)
- Active, unrestricted Ohio RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Demonstrated IV access and perioperative/procedural assessment skills
- Strong commitment to patient confidentiality, privacy, and safety (HIPAA)
- Comfort with accurate controlled-substance handling and counts
- Reliable, on-site, on-time attendance
- Willingness to adhere to OR/office dress code and all policies and procedures
- Professional, patient-first conduct at all times
Nice to Have (Preferred)
- Prior GI, endoscopy, or ambulatory surgery center (ASC) experience
- Experience with gGastro EHR
- CGRN (Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse) credential
- Moderate (conscious) sedation administration experience
- Dedicated PACU / recovery experience
- Comfort coaching peers and supporting onboarding of new staff
- Bilingual capability
