Responsibilities
- Assist experienced roofers in installing and repairing different types of roofing materials such as metal roofing, single-ply membranes, and tile.
- Prepare job sites by setting up scaffolding, ladders, and safety harnesses in accordance with construction safety regulations.
- Handle hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install roofing components with precision.
- Support the interpretation of technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation aligned with construction plans.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials like shingles, metal panels, and insulation while adhering to safety protocol guidelines.
- Aid in the installation of siding, stucco, trim carpentry, masonry elements, and other exterior finishing tasks as needed.
- Follow all construction workplace safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe environment for yourself and team members.
Skills
- Construction experience with a focus on roofing repair or installation is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of construction estimating and interpreting technical drawings or schematics.
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, caulking guns, and masonry tools; familiarity with power tools is a plus.
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions with outdoor work experience essential.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction plans accurately for proper installation procedures.
- Understanding of construction safety harnesses, ladder use protocols, and adherence to safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Skills in metal stud framing, framing carpentry, remodeling, tile laying or restoration are advantageous but not required.
