American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR/CV PreOp position in Asheville, NC, requiring at least 2 years of CVOR experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Position is based in the CVOR and CV PreOp unit (Heart Tower, Building E) of a large 815-bed regional referral hospital
-
CV PreOp unit has 4 beds with a 1:1 patient ratio
-
High-acuity cardiovascular patient population requiring critical care-level nursing
-
Monitoring equipment includes GE Carescape; ultrasound equipment is Fuji
-
Charting is performed in Cerner; experience is expected
-
CV PreOp schedule is Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM
-
CVOR shift runs 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
-
Stay-late call required approximately 1–2 times per week
-
Floating within scope of practice and experience may be required

Unit staffing includes RNs with support from a CNC, unit secretary, and shared management with CVOR
-
Active NC RN license or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR or cardiovascular surgery RN experience required

Critical care nursing experience is required; PreOp experience is a plus

Experience with BCMA (barcode medication administration) required
-
Strong documentation, communication, and critical thinking skills required
-
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
-
One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Responsibilities include large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, and assisting with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement

Additional duties include transporting patients to the OR and assisting with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep

Scrubs are provided by the facility
