Position: Stand Manager
Reports To: Regional Manager
Summary:
The primary function of a Stand Manager is to cultivate kindness with every customer and fellow employee and to create and maintain a team of Brewistas that do this consistently every day in every shift. The guest is our main focus, and we always have genuine interactions with open body language and a smile! The Manager assumes full responsibility for their location’s growing, profitable operation and the preservation of 7 Brew’s culture, mission statement, and values. The Manager is the leader of their crew and maintains deep connections to them and to the unique nuances of business at their assigned location. In addition to regular shifts, the Manager spends time at the stand to coach, train, perform admin duties, and otherwise ensure strong operations. The Manager reports to their Regional Manager. All positions begin with a 6-month probationary period.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Must be proficient in all Brewista/ Brewista Lead duties and skill sets.
- Maintains excellent wait times, cleanliness, and customer interactions through training, coaching, encouragement, and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Provides regular feedback to each team member on strengths and growth areas.
- Works with their crew's needs and availability to create a weekly shift schedule, maintaining a low cost of labor while ensuring quick wait times, quality products, and short lines.
- Tracks and orders necessary inventory, small wares, and parts/equipment, while maintaining a low cost of goods sold, through eliminating waste and accurate counting/ordering.
- Ensures appropriate cash-handling procedures are followed, including deposits, and having adequate change available for their stand.
- Facilitates team bonding and development through regular meetings/events for their Brewista Leads and Brewistas, in both one-on-one and group contexts.
- Takes ownership of solutions, whether through solving the problem themselves or looping in an approved partner or vendor - they "make it happen."
- Ensures the crew is aware of and prepared for health inspections.
- Is always developing new leaders to step up into upcoming roles, regardless of current or upcoming needs.
- Promptly implements and communicates directives from upper management.
- Thoughtfully delegates tasks to their Assistant Stand Manager (if applicable), Brewista Leads, and Brewistas to facilitate efficiency and appropriate development.
Work Schedule Requirements:
- Works a flexible schedule, which can include early mornings (5 a.m.) and late nights (11:30 p.m.)
- Works a minimum of 40 hours over five shifts, on five days per week, to include at least 2 opening and 2 closing shifts per week per the guidelines below.
- At least 35 hours must be scheduled to work with the rest of the team as a Brewista Lead. This time should be spent developing the team members and assisting and supporting them with the general stand operations.
- 5 hours may be scheduled for administrative duties such as managing email, handling HR updates, bank runs, supply orders, creating schedules, handling truck deliveries, etc.
- Must be scheduled to work either Saturday (preferred) or Sunday each week, except for one weekend each month where both Saturday & Sunday can be scheduled off as long as the stand will still be able to operate up to brand standards.
- Must work on all special "promo" days. For example, "Jackpot Day" that falls on the 7th of each month.
- Must work on days that specific manager tasks must be completed such as "Inventory" days and "Ordering" days.
- Must be available to work holidays if necessary, unless on approved time off.
- Visits the stand outside of scheduled shifts as necessary to coach, observe, train, and perform administrative duties to ensure stand is operating up to brand standards at all times.
- Is always available by phone or in person to promptly address any needs at the stand, unless on approved time off.
- Must attend regional operations meetings on an as needed basis.
- Must request any needed time off at least 14 days in advance for approval by the Regional Manager. Must also have plans in place with team trained and equipped to run the stand up to brand standards during your time off.
- Any deviations from these requirements must be approved in advance by the Regional Manager.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven leadership abilities in a fast-paced environment with 40+ Team Members.
- Beginner-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Basic ability to learn and operate various web-based platforms for tasks such as scheduling, ordering, inventory, form submissions, email, etc.
- Can quickly and cleanly operate any position in the stand during peak hours.
- Can maintain awareness of the shift's operations while working a position.
- Can create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with strangers.
- Organized and punctual while working with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Can work outside for prolonged periods, regardless of weather conditions with provided personal protective equipment.
- Works well with multiple personality types under pressure.
- Can assertively and graciously coach and advise their Team Members to address operational, procedural, or cultural issues.
- Can adapt to problems and implement solutions on the fly during stressful situations.
- Can work carefully and quickly with hot water, coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products.
- Ability to obtain a passing score of 100 on applicable test every six months.
Physical Requirements:
- Can lift up to 50lbs.
- Can team-lift items up to 100 lbs.
- Can stand comfortably for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Can climb a ladder that is up to 12 ft tall and use a step ladder.
- Can stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to stock and clean in the stand.
- Can safely walk between and around cars in the drive thru lanes.
- Can safely use a utility knife.
