Position Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department by administering a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, training, compliance, and recordkeeping. This role also coordinates and supports the company's safety program, helping to promote a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace.
Working closely with leaders and employees across the organization, the Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted resource, ensuring HR policies and practices are applied consistently and in alignment with GMM's values, culture, and business objectives. This position requires a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, sound judgment, and strong interpersonal skills to foster positive employee relationships and support organizational success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Foster and maintain positive employee morale while supporting and promoting the company’s culture and core values.
· Review, track, and maintain documentation for compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and employee assessments. This includes safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, certifications, and aptitude testing.
· Develop and implement employee recognition and engagement programs.
· Manage full cycle recruiting activities, including posting job advertisements, reviewing applications, conducting initial screenings and interviews and establishing employee personnel files.
· Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.
· Ensure accurate and timely processing and onboarding of all newly hired employees.
· Administer and monitor FMLA requests and related documentation.
- Process bi-weekly transfer of payroll data to the payroll system software
- Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, wellness benefits or any additional benefit programs
- Conduct benefit orientations and assist employees with the enrollment process
- Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction
· Manage unemployment claims and related correspondence.
· Plan, coordinate, and support employee events and activities.
· Build and maintain relationships with employment agencies, colleges/universities, and other recruitment sources to support hiring initiatives.
· Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies related to human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee records, company information, and sensitive personnel matters.

· Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet programs.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Preferred 2-3 years Human Resources or related field in manufacturing or other work-related environment.
Physical Demands Include:
· Sitting, standing, and walking.
· Use of hands and arms to operate office equipment.
· Being able to see (20/25 vision with glasses, 20/25 without) and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary) sufficient to understand and comprehend individual one-on-one conversations.
Work Environment:
This person will work in an office which is a temperature controlled environment with moderate noise. There will be outside time spent in the manufacturing environment. This setting involves manufacturing equipment with others working in close proximity.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
