Beyond Young Academy is an in-person academic enrichment program serving K-12 students. We're hiring a Spanish teacher to lead our AP Spanish Language and Culture course, on-site at our Millburn, NJ location.
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced, engaging Spanish teacher to plan and deliver AP Spanish Language and Culture instruction for high school students, in person. This is a part-time position; weekly hours depend on the number of class sections and current enrollment, with room to grow as enrollment increases.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach AP Spanish Language and Culture curriculum aligned to the College Board framework
- Prepare students for the AP Spanish exam (reading, listening, speaking, writing)
- Build and deliver lesson plans, assessments, and practice materials
- Track student progress and communicate with parents on performance and areas for growth
- Create an engaging, immersive classroom environment that builds real conversational fluency
- Collaborate with the academic team on scheduling, curriculum consistency, and student outcomes
- Manage classroom logistics: attendance, materials, and day-to-day class operations
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish; strong command of written and spoken English
- Prior experience teaching AP Spanish Language and Culture (or equivalent advanced Spanish instruction)
- Familiarity with the AP Spanish exam format and College Board standards
- Bachelor's degree required; teaching credential or relevant certification a plus
- Experience teaching high school-age students in a classroom setting
- Strong communication skills with students and parents
- Reliable, in-person availability at our Millburn, NJ site
