American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Telemetry unit in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience and an active NV RN license prior to start.

Medical and Telemetry unit in an extremely busy, fast-paced hospital environment
-
Patient population includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure patients (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and OHS patients downgraded from ICU)
-
Non-titratable cardiac medication drips administered, including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro
-
Floating may be required to ICUs (for telemetry/medically appropriate assignments), medical-surgical units, and a sister facility
-
3x12-hour day shifts (1845–0715)
-
Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
-
No on-call requirements outside of scheduled shifts

Epic EMR used; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out

Kronos used for time tracking

13-week contract

Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may still be considered and must apply immediately upon offer

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required

Candidates must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring rhythm strips; failure results in contract termination

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

Provides comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including individualized assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation throughout the episode of care

Collaborates within a multidisciplinary, patient-centered team environment

Minimum of 2 major holidays required

Blocked scheduling is not permitted

RTO must be submitted with initial consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for approved time off

Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 13-week break after their last contract before being eligible to return
