Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customized lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for various elementary subjects including English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Utilize learning technology tools and online instruction platforms to deliver interactive lessons that engage students in-person.
- Assess individual student needs by understanding different learning styles and adapting teaching strategies accordingly to maximize understanding and retention.
- Provide targeted tutoring sessions in core areas such as reading, writing, math, science, to help students improve their skills and confidence.
- Manage behavior effectively while fostering a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and active participation.
- Track student progress through assessments and regular feedback, adjusting instructional methods as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other education professionals to support each student’s academic development and address any learning challenges or special education needs.
Skills
- Strong background in curriculum development across elementary subjects with experience designing engaging lesson plans.
- Proficiency with learning technology tools and online instruction platforms for remote teaching.
- Demonstrated expertise in tutoring children in English language arts, mathematics, science, or test preparation such as MAPs
- Excellent communication skills to clearly convey concepts to students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Ability to adapt instruction based on individual student needs and educational goals.
- Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques combined with patience and enthusiasm for early childhood education.
- Familiarity with special education practices and accommodations for learners with unique needs.
