Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver goods along assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Manage delivery schedules efficiently, ensuring timely arrivals and departures from each stop
- Communicate clearly with customers to confirm deliveries, answer questions, and provide exceptional service
- Handle heavy lifting of packages or merchandise with proper technique to prevent injury
- Utilize organizational skills to plan optimal routes, maximize efficiency, and reduce delivery times
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, enhancing customer satisfaction and sales opportunities
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and inventory records for each trip
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs promptly
Experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience preferred but not required
- Strong math skills for handling pricing calculations and basic measurements
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Previous experience in sales or upselling is a plus for promoting additional products or services
- Familiarity with route driving, merchandising practices, and route planning techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Organizational skills for managing schedules, deliveries, and paperwork effectively
- Military background is advantageous for discipline, navigation skills, and safety awareness
