Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient selection for daily specials or events
- Ensure all food handling and preparation adheres to food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Support food presentation and plating for optimal visual appeal
- Follow dietary guidelines and accommodate special dietary needs when necessary
- Assist in catering events or large-scale meal preparations as required
- Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred, especially in fine dining or catering environments
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation is advantageous
- Background in dietary aide roles or dietary departments is a plus
- Familiarity with the food industry standards for quality and presentation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
