What We Are Looking For
Geddes Ulinskas Architects (GUA) is seeking a design-oriented, technically strong Architectural Designer with 6–8 years of full-time experience in custom and high-end residential architecture who is passionate about custom home design, fine detailing, materials, and craftsmanship, and is responsible, disciplined, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning.
The ideal candidate must also have strong professional Revit/BIM experience, including BIM coordination and model management, and be capable of working independently while helping maintain project quality, schedules, and timely delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- 6–8 years of full-time professional architectural experience.
- Strong experience in custom or high-end residential architecture.
- Strong architectural design, detailing, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience carrying residential projects through concept design, SD, DD, CD, permitting, and CA.
- Strong knowledge of materials, building systems, construction methods, and residential detailing.
- Minimum 5 years of professional Revit/BIM experience with advanced Revit proficiency.
- Ability to produce and coordinate complete architectural drawing sets in Revit throughout all project phases.
- Experience with BIM model setup, management, standards, consultant coordination, and quality control.
- Strong organizational, time-management, project-scheduling, and follow-through skills.
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning requirements, and permitting processes.
- Experience communicating and coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Able to work independently, take ownership of assigned work, and follow projects through completion.
- Responsible, disciplined, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Self-motivated and able to research and learn independently.
- 3D rendering and visualization skills are a plus.
- SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and hand-sketching skills are a plus.
- Ability to attend project meetings, site visits, and travel as required.

Responsibilities
- Work on custom residential projects from initial concept through Construction Administration.
- Develop architectural concepts, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and presentation materials.
- Develop and maintain project drawings and documentation in Revit from SD through CA.
- Prepare and coordinate SD, DD, CD, permit, and construction-phase drawing sets.
- Develop architectural and construction details consistent with the design intent.
- Set up, maintain, and manage project Revit/BIM models.
- Maintain BIM standards, model organization, drawing quality, coordination, and quality control.
- Coordinate architectural work with structural, MEP, lighting, landscape, interior design, and other consultants.
- Research and apply applicable zoning, building codes, and agency requirements.
- Prepare permit submissions and coordinate responses to plan-check comments.
- Participate in client meetings, design presentations, consultant meetings, and project coordination meetings.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members.
- Attend site meetings and participate in field coordination and construction problem-solving.
- Review RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, samples, and field conditions.
- Prepare supplemental drawings, details, and clarifications during construction.
- Monitor project schedules and team progress to help ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential delays, coordination issues, and technical concerns.
- Take responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, quality, and timely delivery of assigned work.
- Provide day-to-day project leadership by coordinating team tasks, tracking progress, and helping ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.

Salary Range: $85,000–$120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
