Position Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant will partner closely with the Finance Leader to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, maintain compliance with applicable standards, and support contract-related financial processes. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and experience working in structured or regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Record and reconcile financial transactions and maintain accurate records
- Prepare and analyze financial reports in accordance with GAAP
- Support accounts payable, payroll and general accounting processes
- Support contract administration and proposal-related financial components
- Review project financials for compliance with budget and requirements
- Monitor project budgets, funding levels, and financial performance
- Handle compliance items & assist with audits/reviews
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Payroll experience a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with QuickBooks is a must & advanced Excel preferred
