Job Responsibilities
- Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedures
- Enter vendor invoices and employee reimbursements into QuickBooks. Print checks as required.
- Review vendor statements and be able to research and resolve any discrepancies.
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Assist in preparing accounts payable-related financial reports for management.
- Assist in entering employee timecards for payroll processing
- Assist in purchasing supplies and making payments on purchases
- Maintain department’s files to ensure they remain accessible when needed by Company personnel or outside auditors
- Assist the Accounting Manager with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting Department.
- Assist in general accounts reconciliations, including bank statements, petty cash accounts, credit card accounts, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities accounts and others
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and interim financial reporting.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Manage all administrative duties and additional projects assigned by the Accounting Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in using accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks (Preferred)
- Experience with general ledger accounting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of debits, credits, account reconciliation, and technical accounting is highly desirable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
