Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated, personable Leasing Consultant to help create a great experience for both prospective and current residents. This role is a key part of the community’s success and focuses on leasing, customer service, follow-up, resident engagement, and supporting overall occupancy goals.
The ideal candidate is organized, confident talking with people, comfortable in a sales environment, and knows how to turn an inquiry into a lease while still making the process feel welcoming and personal.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to leasing inquiries by phone, email, online leads, and walk-in traffic in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct property tours and highlight apartment homes, amenities, and community features.
- Help prospects through the application process and clearly explain screening criteria and required documentation.
- Process rental applications, background and credit screenings, and communicate decisions in accordance with Fair Housing guidelines.
- Prepare lease agreements, addenda, and move-in paperwork accurately.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and maintain an active leasing pipeline in the CRM and property management system.
- Work toward leasing and occupancy goals, including applications and signed leases.
- Assist with lease renewals and proactively communicate with residents ahead of lease expirations.
- Keep availability, pricing, and marketing information accurate and up to date across leasing platforms, websites, and other marketing channels.
- Coordinate move-in inspections and help make sure apartment homes are ready before resident arrival.
- Support resident retention efforts and help plan resident events and community activities.
- Participate in local outreach, referral programs, and marketing efforts to help generate new leads.
- Build relationships with local businesses and community partners through in-person and digital outreach.
- Complete competitive market research, including shopping nearby communities and reviewing pricing and specials.
- Prepare weekly leasing activity and follow-up reports for the Property Manager.
- Assist with seasonal initiatives, lease-up efforts, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong sales skills and the ability to overcome objections and confidently close leases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing laws.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities and follow-ups.
- Flexibility to work weekends based on leasing traffic and community needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of leasing, sales, or customer service experience
- Residential leasing experience
- Experience working at Class A and/or Class B multifamily communities
- Experience with RealPage and Knock
- Comfortable using property management software, CRM systems, and digital leasing tools.

Compensation
Hourly rate is based on experience. This position is also eligible for competitive leasing bonuses based on leasing performance.
