Your Role
We’re looking for a Factory Production Lead to help guide our talented factory team and uphold Sweet Cow’s high standards of quality, safety, and fun. The Production Lead works hands-on alongside the team, ensuring every batch of ice cream, cake, and sammie meets our exacting standards of quality, safety, and consistency.
This role blends hands-on production with leadership—supporting team execution, coordinating shift operations, maintaining inventory accuracy, and communicating across teams to keep things running smoothly. The Production Lead helps create an environment that’s efficient, organized, and rooted in Sweet Cow’s values, where everyone contributes, grows, and takes pride in the work we do together.
Your Contribution & Responsibilities:
Execution
- Lead and participate in daily production of ice cream, cakes, and sammies, ensuring recipes, weights, and yields meet Sweet Cow standards.
- Supports the Factory Manager in the execution of day-to-day responsibilities in all areas of factory operations.
- Coordinate and adjust production schedules to meet shop and MooMobile demand with accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee ingredient prep, batch flow, and inventory use to maintain consistency and minimize waste.
- Maintain accurate production records and inventory tracking within factory systems.
- Monitor product quality, temperature, and presentation to exceed Sweet Cow expectations.
- Uphold food safety, sanitation, and labeling standards in compliance with state and local regulations.
- Direct cleaning routines and ensure all equipment, tools, and spaces are maintained in top condition.
- Anticipate workflow challenges and make proactive adjustments to keep operations smooth.
- Support preventive maintenance and operational readiness of all factory equipment.
Builds Effective Teams
- Act as the on-shift leader, supporting and guiding the production team with clarity and positivity.
- Assign daily tasks, ensuring proper coverage, teamwork, and productivity.
- Train, mentor, and coach Factory Ice Cream Makers to uphold Sweet Cow’s production standards.
- Foster a supportive, team-focused environment built on trust, accountability, and kindness.
- Provide in-the-moment feedback and encouragement to help teammates grow.
- Partner with the Factory Manager on scheduling, training, and performance development.
- Lead by example — showing pride in the work, respect for others, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Communicate with Impact
- Share needs, updates, or issues with the Factory Manager promptly.
- Share clear updates, priorities, and expectations with the team at the start and end of each shift.
- Listen actively and communicate kindly and directly with peers and leaders.
- Report any equipment, ingredient, or staffing concerns in a timely, solutions-focused way.
- Share feedback, ideas, and issues proactively and respectfully.
- Foster a culture of open communication, feedback, and teamwork across all levels.
Customers & Community
- Ensure all products support an outstanding customer experience.
- Protect and strengthen Sweet Cow’s reputation through safe, reliable production.
- Support shops and MooMobiles with accurate, timely deliveries.
- Support new flavor testing, seasonal launches, and product innovation under the guidance of the Factory Manager.
- Take pride in producing ice cream that reflects Sweet Cow’s quality, creativity, and care for community.
- Maintain a positive, professional presence that embodies Sweet Cow’s brand in every interaction.
Compensation
$24-$27.50 per hour

Knowledge, Skills & Requirements
Leadership or shift lead experience in a food production, kitchen, or manufacturing environment.
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills.
Effective communicator who builds trust and respect across teams.
Dependable, punctual, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment..
Ability to perform basic math, including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and both U.S. and metric units.
Effective communicator with peers and leaders.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Daytime availability; nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Experience
Prior Sweet Cow factory or production experience preferred.
Leadership or shift lead experience in a food production or service environment strongly preferred.
Knowledge of food safety compliance and sanitation standards.
Proficiency with digital systems such as Restaurant365 or Google Sheets a plus.
