Expert Staffing west is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor for a facility in Otay Mesa
This will be a temporary position with the opportunity for conversion to full-time after 3 months, provided the employee successfully completes the probationary period.
- pay range is $23.00–$25.00 per hour.

schedule will be Monday through Friday, with hours varying between the 1st and 2nd shift based on business needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to lift 60lbs. Walk, bend and climb. Operate Shipping & Receiving equipment: Electric Forklifts and pallet jacks. Flexible work schedules a required.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Able to work in a cold environment ( 0° to 40°). Slippery floors, and a fast pace noisy Shipping & Receiving dock area.
DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
His/her main responsibilities are to direct all the functions and daily operations of the shipping and receiving clerks.
1 Follow and adhere to written procedures and policies at Jensen Meat Co.
2 Must adhere to GMP's.
3 Communicate with Jensen Meat Drivers on a daily basis.
4 Communicate on the phone, and in person with Carriers and Customers daily.
5 Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the department.
6 Daily review for product to be pulled by Shipping Clerks.
7 Do a beginning of shift inspection on areas within the department: Dock area, west yard, freezer, cooler and Dry storage.
8 Process previous days shippers from receiving (tray) and give to customer service
9 Must have attention to detail qualities.
10 Shipping and Receiving desks and areas to be kept clean and always organized.
11 Set and lead by example for co-workers.
12 Monitor and assist in the organization of freezer and cooler.
13 Must have written & verbal communication within the department, along with all other departments at Jensen Meat Co.
14 Report any issues or concerns with equipment.
15 Call pallet company for pickup and delivery.
16 Must be consistent in the training and handling of employees.
17 Routinely spot check employees to ensure that procedures are being followed.
18 Communicate with Manager as required, and authorized overtime within the department.
19 Work in a cold environment 34° to 0°.
20 Able to work in a fast-paced environment at times.
DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsibility to supervise all activities of the shipping and receiving department.
Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
Responsibility to report food safety and quality opportunities and cooperation to improve the effectiveness of the SQF program for continuous improvement.
In absence of the S/R Manager will take responsibilities of the key personnel.
