Job Description:
G. Christianson Construction is seeking a Custom Cabinet Drafter who is responsible for creating precise technical drawings and detailed shop plans for custom cabinetry projects. This role bridges the gap between design concepts and production, ensuring all drawings align with client specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and quality standards. The Custom Cabinet Drafter works closely with designers, clients and production teams to bring high-quality, functional cabinetry designs to life.
Job Duties:
· Develop accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for custom cabinets and millwork using software like Microvellum. Experience preferred.
· Interpret architectural blueprints, design sketches, and client specifications to create production-ready designs.
· Ensure all designs comply with manufacturing capabilities, material specifications, and industry standards.
· Attend onsite meetings when cabinets are involved in the scope of the project such as Measures and layout for cabinetry.
· Create cutting lists, material takeoffs, and hardware schedules for production.
· Maintain organized project files, including drawings, revisions, and documentation.
· Provide technical support to the production team during the manufacturing process.
· Communicate effectively with clients and/or designers to clarify requirements and ensure design expectations are met.
· Conduct quality checks on drawings to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors.
· Order and track materials and tools for install/manufacturing crew
Requirements
· 2+ years of experience in cabinetry or millwork drafting/design.
· Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, Mosaic).
· Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, and material properties.
· Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production requirements.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
