JOB DESCRIPTION: Authorization Specialist wanted for Private Pain Clinic

Summary:
This in-person position requires medical insurance knowledge and experience in the process of obtaining insurance authorizations for treatment through various websites and portals. Candidate must be highly organized, detail oriented, a team player, and willing to take direction but able to also work independently. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of providing advanced pain management solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical coding and insurance verification processes.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience with EPIC Practice Management System (preferred)
- Experience with Pain Management or a specialist practice is a plus!
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with patients, medical providers and insurance representatives.
Duties Include:
- Reviewing EPIC WorkQs for ordered procedures and then utilizing various insurance portals and websites to submit requests for authorizations.
- Submitting appeals for denied authorization requests and processes to obtain extensions or other changes to those authorizations.
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits and coverage options
- Must keep up to date with changing insurance guidelines for our procedures.

Job Type: Permanent – In-Person – Full Time – Mon-Fri 8:00am to 4:30pm
Pay Range: $20-$25hr per hour, depending on experience

- High school or equivalent (Required)

- Medical coding: 2 years (Required)
- Insurance verification: 2 years (Required)
- EPIC medial record system: 1 year (Preferred)
