-TKE is seeking instructors to provide kids with tutoring this summer and next school year!
-In-person sessions(Fredericksburg, King George, Stafford, Spotsylvania and Caroline), held at a centralized public location
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects.
- Assess students' academic needs and develop personalized learning plans.
- Create engaging and interactive lesson plans to enhance students' understanding of the subject matter.
- Utilize learning technology and resources to supplement tutoring sessions.
- Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure students' academic success.
- Stay up-to-date with current educational practices and curriculum development.
Strict Requirement:
-Has no criminal record (absolutely no felons, non-violent and non-drug related misdemeanor will be considered on a case-by-case basis)
-College student or exceeded college
-Has a passion for teaching and recognizes the nonprofit's mission of promoting education equality and equity
-Motivated and consistent with communication and timing
-Knowledgeable in the subject the tutor wants to teach
-Fluent with English
-Basic computer skills (word, zoom, etc) and must have basic applications (email, slack, texting)
Soft requirement:
-Background in teaching or the field of education
-Comfortable with a variety of ages and needs (ie. autism, processing delay, Learning disability, etc)
-Prefer a tutor that is flexible in teaching multiple subjects
Demographic of student: K-12 students and adult learners
HIGH NEED FOR 6-12 grade tutors
