SUMMARY:
The Custodian is responsible for care and efficient operation of all equipment used by the organization, ensuring that the property and environment are always in working condition, clean, orderly and employees have a safe and functioning workplace.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
· Ensures property, inside and outside, is clean, functioning and maintained.
· Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors, including gym and stage.
· Gathers and empties trash.
· Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities.
· Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
· Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
· Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
· Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
· Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
· Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
· Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
· Notifies manager regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
· May perform heavy cleaning duties as necessary.
· Open/Close building and gates.
· Performs "handyman" upkeep for small repairs as directed by the Facilities Manager.
· Communicates workplace safety precautions to employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
· 1-2 years of experience in similar position; 2-4 years of experience preferred.

· Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.

· Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, or hear. Periodically sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
