Community Services & Workforce Development Specialist (HEOT Apprenticeship Program)Position Overview
The Development Project Corporation (TDPC) is seeking highly experienced workforce professionals to support the development and expansion of the H.E.O.T. (Heavy Equipment Operator & Trades) Registered Apprenticeship Program.
This position is responsible for recruiting apprentices, developing employer partnerships, coordinating workforce training, ensuring regulatory compliance, mentoring participants, and supporting apprenticeship activities throughout Florida.
Applicants must possess extensive workforce experience and demonstrate the leadership necessary to develop skilled professionals who will strengthen Florida's workforce.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 8–10 years of professional workforce experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Workforce Development
- Registered Apprenticeships
- Heavy Equipment Operations
- Skilled Trades
- Construction Management
- Technical Education
- Adult Education
- Career & Technical Education
- Public Service
- Community Development
- Ability to successfully pass a Florida Level 2 Background Screening.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring experience.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Primary Responsibilities
- Recruit and mentor apprenticeship candidates.
- Develop employer partnerships throughout Florida.
- Coordinate classroom instruction and work-based learning.
- Maintain apprenticeship records and compliance documentation.
- Monitor apprentice progress and performance.
- Support grant-funded workforce initiatives.
- Coordinate with employers, educational institutions, and community partners.
- Assist with curriculum implementation.
- Ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards and applicable regulations.
- Participate in outreach, recruitment, and workforce engagement events.
