Operations Manager – Valet Trash Services
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations related to doorstep valet trash services across a portfolio of multifamily apartment communities. This role ensures service excellence, operational efficiency, staffing performance, client satisfaction, safety compliance, and profitability.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-oriented, operationally disciplined, and capable of managing field teams across multiple properties while maintaining strong relationships with property managers and regional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee nightly valet trash operations across assigned apartment communities
- Ensure all trash collection services are completed on time and according to company standards
- Monitor route efficiency, service quality, and operational KPIs
- Conduct regular property inspections and quality assurance audits
- Resolve operational issues quickly and professionally
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise onsite supervisors and service valets
- Manage employee performance, coaching, accountability, and disciplinary actions
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for all service locations
- Build a positive, high-performance team culture
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for property managers and regional clients
- Maintain strong relationships with multifamily partners
- Address customer concerns and service escalations promptly
- Participate in client meetings, property walks, and operational reviews
Scheduling & Logistics
- Coordinate nightly routes and staffing assignments
- Optimize labor efficiency and operational coverage
- Manage supply distribution including bins, bags, PPE, and equipment
- Ensure proper vehicle and equipment utilization
Financial & KPI Management
- Monitor labor costs, overtime, fuel usage, and operational expenses
- Track performance metrics such as:
- Service completion rates
- Resident complaints
- Labor efficiency
- Client retention
- Safety incidents
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance
- Conduct safety meetings and field training
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with local waste handling regulations
Qualifications
Required
- 3–5+ years of operations management experience
- Experience managing hourly field employees
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software systems
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation Range
Typical compensation for valet trash Operations Managers in the U.S.:
- Base Salary: $60,000–$65,000
