Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Home Health Aide (HHA), where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, personalized care to individuals in their homes. As an HHA, you will work closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality home health services that promote independence and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor and observe patient conditions, recording vital signs and reporting any changes to healthcare providers promptly.
- Administer medications and perform basic medical procedures such as catheter care, wound care, and hospice support under supervision.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to document patient care accurately and maintain medical records securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assistive devices to promote safe mobility and prevent injury.
- Prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding when necessary, and handle light housekeeping tasks like cleaning and laundry to maintain a clean, safe living space.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive environment for clients with developmental disabilities or those receiving hospice care.
- Work within home & community care settings to deliver personalized services tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
- Follow all safety protocols including CPR certification and proper handling of medical supplies to ensure patient safety at all times.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond effectively to changing conditions.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and documentation practices using EHR/EMR systems.
- Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive impairments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hospice care principles and working with patients during end-of-life stages is a plus.
- Long-term care experience involving patient care planning, mobility assistance using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is valued.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or specialized caregiving courses are beneficial. Pay: $17.75 - $22.25 per hour
