Grounds Laborer
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Crawford and Associates Services, LLC. – USNPRC (United States National Poultry Research Center), Athens, Georgia
Salary Range: $21.45/per hour plus fringe benefit of $9.62/hr. ($6.87 H&W / $3.00 401k contribution)
Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (8-hour shifts) - May be required to work weekends as needed
Shift Differential: 4% (2nd shift) or 6% (3rd shift) differential pay only if the majority of hours worked fall within the shift differential window

Job Summary
Work involves a variety of the following duties:
- Cutting grass using walk behind or riding mowers, trims hedges and edges walkways.
- Pressure washes sidewalks, roads, buildings etc.
- Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth.
- Applies fertilizer and insecticide, plants grass, flowers, trees, etc.
- Picks up leaves, limbs, paper and other litter from grounds, walks and roadways, clean parking lots and walkways.
- Performs tasks, which require physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
The following tasks are typical of this occupation:
- Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake; shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches; cuts tree and brush; operates power lawnmowers.
- Spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways; picks up leaves and trash.
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge Required by the Position: Requires no previous experience or specialized skill. Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs.
Supervisory Controls: Reports to O&M Site Supervisor.
Guidelines: Responds to the changing physical environment of the facility.
