Hiawatha Care Center is actively hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide both clinical leadership and hands-on skilled nursing care. The RN plays a critical role in resident assessment, care planning, and day-to-day clinical decision-making. As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Hiawatha Care Center, you will collaborate closely with nursing staff, providers, residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality resident outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care and clinical oversight as an RN
- Assess resident conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Communicate with residents, family members, providers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Order medications and coordinate resident healthcare needs
- Oversee resident admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Coordinate resident appointments and transportation arrangements as needed
- Supervise, support, and mentor Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
- Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with regulations
- Support infection control, quality assurance, and resident safety initiatives
- Promote a positive team culture through leadership, accountability, and collaboration
Qualifications
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- Previous RN experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to effectively supervise and support nursing staff
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to adapt to changing resident needs and priorities
- RN candidates must have completed or be willing to complete the Long-Term Care Supervisors Course, if required by state regulations
