We are looking for a Software Developer to join a collaborative team in Columbus, Ohio and create dependable applications that support critical business operations. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys building solutions across both back-end and front-end technologies while partnering closely with technical teams and business stakeholders. The role offers the chance to contribute to application enhancement, problem-solving, and ongoing delivery of well-designed software.
Responsibilities:
- Create, enhance, and support business applications using C# and .NET technologies across the full development lifecycle.
- Develop responsive user-facing functionality with JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern web standards to deliver a smooth experience.
- Design and refine interactions with relational databases, including writing and improving SQL queries for performance and reliability.
- Investigate application issues, identify root causes, and implement durable solutions that improve long-term system stability.
- Work closely with developers, architects, and business partners to translate requirements into effective technical outcomes.
- Participate in solution planning, peer code reviews, and team technical discussions to maintain strong engineering standards.
- Contribute to software quality practices such as testing, version control, and continuous integration and deployment activities.
- At least 7 years of experience in software development roles.
- Strong hands-on background with C# and .NET or .NET Framework development.
- Solid front-end development experience using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience working with relational databases and writing or optimizing SQL queries.
- Understanding of software engineering practices including testing, source control, CI/CD, and code quality standards.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
