Overnight Security
Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You
When most of the hotel is asleep, you help ensure everything continues to run safely, smoothly, and seamlessly.
As an Overnight Security Officer at the DoubleTree by Hilton Burlington, you'll do far more than patrol the property. You'll help create a safe and welcoming environment for our guests and team members while serving as an overnight ambassador for the hotel. Whether you're responding to a guest request, providing complimentary transportation, assisting during an emergency, or simply offering a friendly greeting, you'll play an important role in delivering the hospitality Hilton is known for.
This position is ideal for someone who is observant, dependable, calm under pressure, and enjoys working independently while remaining connected to the operation.
What You’ll Do
During a typical overnight shift, you will:
- Conduct regular patrols throughout guest corridors, public areas, meeting spaces, parking lots, and exterior grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment
- Identify, report, and address safety concerns, maintenance issues, security risks, and unusual activity before they become larger problems
- Respond professionally to guest concerns, disturbances, medical situations, fire alarms, and other emergency incidents while following established hotel procedures
- Complete incident reports, daily logs, and other documentation accurately and thoroughly
- Coordinate with hotel leadership, Engineering, Front Desk, and emergency responders when situations require additional support
- Provide complimentary transportation for guests to and from the Airport and the University of Vermont Medical Center, ensuring safe, timely, and courteous service
- Assist guests with luggage and offer a warm welcome upon arrival or departure
- Support the overnight operation by responding to guest requests and assisting the Front Desk whenever additional coverage is needed
- Maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout the property, helping guests feel both safe and cared for.
What It Takes to Make the Stay
At the DoubleTree, our values define how we care for our guests, our communities, and one another.
We are looking for someone who brings:
- A genuine commitment to guest safety and hospitality
- Sound judgment and the confidence to make thoughtful decisions independently
- A calm, professional demeanor during emergencies and unexpected situations
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
- A high level of integrity, professionalism, and personal accountability
- The ability to balance security responsibilities with exceptional guest service
Previous experience in hotel security, law enforcement, emergency services, military, transportation, or customer service is preferred but not required.
A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required, as this position regularly operates hotel shuttle vehicles.

This position works overnight shifts and requires reliable availability, including weekends and holidays based on business needs.
