American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring Epic experience and stroke thrombectomy experience.

Work in the Interventional Radiology department of a hospital environment
-
Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
-
Unit consists of 4 procedure rooms with an average daily census of 25
-
Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
-
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
-
Weekend rotation required every third weekend, no more than 2 per month
-
Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
-
Call requirements include participation in a 3-person call team with 8-10 call shifts per month plus every third weekend, rotated among the team
-
Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of consideration

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
-
Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology RN experience required
-
Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted

Epic charting system experience required
-
Stroke thrombectomy experience required
-
Trauma Level II experience preferred
-
Experience with vascular procedures including angioplasty, carotid stenting, and upper/lower extremity angiography
-
Skilled in sheath removal/monitoring, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose), and topical hemostasis
-
Proficient in radiation and laser safety protocols and procedural sedation monitoring
-
Experience with central line insertion assistance, PICC line care, and implanted port maintenance preferred
-
Responsibilities include pre/post procedure care, circulating during procedures, and administration of emergency medications, antiarrhythmics, and IV vasopressors

Scrubs provided by the facility

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized prior to submission
-
No RTO can be requested during orientation week
-
If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays occur, one holiday RTO request may be considered
-
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler

Returning travelers who were cancelled or given a do-not-return must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying

Travel pairs are not permitted to be assigned to the same shift on the same unit

Shift schedule is firm with no alternate shift or schedule requests allowed
