Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, corporation, trust, and fiduciary tax returns
- Meet with clients throughout the year to discuss tax planning opportunities and provide proactive tax advice
- Lead tax strategy meetings and identify opportunities to reduce tax liability and support client goals
- Prepare tax estimates, projections, and multi-year tax planning analyses
- Advise clients regarding pass-through entity taxation, including S corporations, partnerships, and Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) planning
- Review tax returns prepared by staff and provide coaching, training, and technical guidance
- Research and resolve complex federal and state tax issues
- Manage client relationships and ensure timely, high-quality service
- Utilize Lacerte Tax Software and TaxDome to manage workflow, client communication, tax preparation, and review processes
- Assist in developing and improving firm processes, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborate with leadership and team members to support firm growth and client success
Qualifications
- Active CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) license required
- 5–8 years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and California taxation
- Experience with tax planning, projections, estimates, and advisory services
- Experience working with pass-through entities and PTET planning
- Experience reviewing tax returns and supervising staff
- Proficiency with Lacerte and TaxDome preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
