Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance to promote positive social interactions
- Support instructional activities tailored to various age groups, including arts, crafts, outdoor play, and educational games
- Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, to respond promptly to minor injuries or emergencies
- Facilitate youth group activities and camp-style experiences that encourage teamwork and personal growth
- Collaborate with team members to plan engaging programs aligned with childhood development principles and youth program standards
- Maintain a safe outdoor environment for children during outdoor work activities and supervise outdoor play sessions
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including daycare or camp environments
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively
- Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification, AED operation, and first aid protocols
- Experience in special education or working with children with additional needs is a plus
- Excellent child supervision skills combined with a nurturing approach to childhood development
- Ability to lead youth programs and facilitate group activities that promote social skills and teamwork
- Demonstrated team leadership abilities with a collaborative mindset for working within a childcare team
- Background in theater or creative arts can enhance activity planning and engagement strategies
- Outdoor work experience that ensures safety during outdoor activities and excursions
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques rooted in positive reinforcement strategies
- Experience in youth development programs or youth group facilitation enhances program delivery
