Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented and skilled Certified Dental Assistant to join our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth daily operations. The Dental Assistant will be instrumental in delivering high-quality dental services for various procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix and Dexis Imaging software is preferred to streamline medical documentation and records management.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures
- Prepare treatment operatories
- Sterilizing instruments and operatories
- Take dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
- X-ray certification is preferred but willing to train the proper candidate
- Manage patient records using Dentrix and Dexis ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation with strong organizational skills
- Perform vital sign assessments and document medical history for patient records with accuracy.
- Apply infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Patient Education such as oral health care instructions, post op instructions
- Treatment Plan dental procedures to patient needs
- Scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners, digital x-ray units when required for diagnostic and treatment
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures to ensure precise communication within the team.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred - willing to train the proper candidate.
- Proficiency with dental EMR systems such as Dentrix and Dexis is advantageous.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and dental imaging procedures including X-ray technology.
- Familiarity with dentistry practices and procedures is a plus.
- Certification or training in chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry techniques, and radiography is desirable.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical records management is essential for success in this role with strong organizational skills. Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
