Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, safety-conscious professional to step into the role of CDL A Dump Truck & Heavy Haul Driver. This specialized position goes beyond standard point-to-point freight hauling. You will be operating heavy haul configurations, dump trucks, and tankers throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Because this role deals directly with moving heavy machinery, having strong Lowboy Experience is highly valued. Tanker endorsement is a plus. As a CDL A Dump Truck & Heavy Haul Driver, you will be trusted to handle complex logistics, secure valuable machinery, and represent our company with pride on the road.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Specialized Hauling: Safely operate a late-model fleet with manual transmissions, managing heavy haul loads, dump trucks, and tankers.
- Load Securement: Utilize your extensive knowledge of chains & binders to properly secure heavy machinery, ensuring compliance with all load restrictions.
- Compliance & Permitting: Navigate regional routes while staying fully compliant with local regulations, including oversize and overweight permits.
- Equipment Care: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, keep tight maintenance logs, and take pride in your truck with weekly cleaning and polishing.
- Safety First: Maintain an uncompromising focus on safety protocols to protect yourself, your team, and the public.
What We Look For (Requirements)
To be successful as our CDL A Dump Truck & Heavy Haul Driver, you must bring a sharp eye for detail and a great attitude to work every day. Our ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
- License: Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record (required).
- Experience: 1 year driving experience. Prior Lowboy Experience is a major plus. Tanker endorsement also a major plus.
- Skills: Proficient with manual transmissions and highly experienced with Chains & Binders, legal load limits, and oversize permits.
- Certifications: Current DOT Medical Card with a national registration number. Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10-hour Construction Card.
- Location & Travel: Reliable transportation to and from our Enfield, CT location is a must. Flexibility for day/night shifts and occasional overnights is required.
- Screening: Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT drug test and remain compliant with random DOT drug screening protocols.
- Language: English language proficiency is preferred.
