The Clinical Engineering Technician I plays a vital role in the safe and effective operation of medical equipment throughout the healthcare system. This position is responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of a broad range of biomedical, electronic, and electromechanical devices used in patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.
The technician ensures that all clinical equipment meets manufacturer specifications, regulatory requirements, and hospital safety standards, while minimizing equipment downtime and supporting uninterrupted patient care. Working closely with clinical staff, nursing, and other departments, the Clinical Engineering Technician contributes directly to patient safety and the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery by maintaining high standards of equipment reliability and performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in biomedical Instrumentation Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology Electronics, Information Technology or related field or completion of U.S. military biomedical equipment technology program and 1 year of experience in biomed, electronic and/or mechanical repairs, IT or related fields; hospital experience preferred
OR
- HS Diploma and 3 years of experience in clinical engineering, electronic and/or mechanical repairs IT or related fields; hospital experience preferred
