The Registered Nurse Clinic is responsible for providing professional nursing for patients following established standards and practices. Assists physicians and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access. Coordinates patient flow, schedules appointments, procedures, tests and referrals. May serve as preceptor for clinical staff. Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. Works under minimal supervision. Creativity is expected to perform job. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice.
The RN will also support the physician in the inpatient setting, working closely with a single pediatric pulmonologist to provide coordinated hospital-based care. Responsibilities include participating in daily rounds, assisting with bedside and operating room procedures (including bronchoscopies), supporting real-time documentation as needed, and facilitating communication among hospital teams, patients, and families. This role requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to function effectively in fast-paced inpatient and procedural environments while ensuring continuity of care between hospital and outpatient settings. Candidates are required to attend a one-time educational session in pediatric bronchology designed to support the development of procedural proficiency.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Proficient in the English language, verbal and written communication skills, computer skills
Current Louisiana State license as RN and BLS certification
