Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious Class A CDL Driver & Construction Equipment Operator (Petroleum/Laborer) to join our team. In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for operating commercial trucks and construction equipment to transport petroleum products and construction materials safely and efficiently. Your expertise in driving, logistics cargo handling, and equipment operation will ensure smooth project execution while adhering to all safety regulations. Duties
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized vehicles in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper securing of freight including hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning deliveries to meet project timelines while optimizing fuel consumption and route safety.
- Transport petroleum products, construction materials, and heavy equipment to various job sites, adhering strictly to hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Operate construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, or dump trucks to assist with site preparation, material movement, or other construction tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment before and after trips; perform basic maintenance or report issues promptly to ensure safety standards are met at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid Class A CDL license.
- Strong knowledge of regulations and hazardous materials handling procedures.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and various types of construction equipment such as forklifts and dump trucks.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time tracking.
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using manual handling techniques or mechanical aids; experience with freight involving dangerous goods is a plus.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience route driving in diverse environments preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to commercial trucking operations.
